BIOGRAPHY
Frederick Morgan studied under his father, the genre painter John Morgan (1823–1886). At the age of sixteen, his painting The Rehersal was accepted at the Royal Academy. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He married the painter Alice Havers in 1872. His many paintings of children and animals were popular and some were reproduced as prints or in advertisements. He was active in London exhibitions from 1865, notably at the Royal Academy (Benezit, Dictionary of Artists, Gründ, 2006).
